Health Plan Vs. Health Insurance

26.jpg

Before, HMO’s used the word “health plan”, while commercial insurers used the term “health insurance”. Health plan can also mean a subscription-based health care arrangement offered thru HMO, PPO or POS plans. These plans are the same as those pre-paid dental, pre-paid legal and pre-paid vision plans. Pre-paid health plans basically pays for a constant number of services. Services rendered are basically at the judgment of a nurse who is often contracted providing the subscription health plan. This may be made either before or after the hospitalization.
